According to reports Apple Incorporation wants to come to India and has asked the central government to relax their labelling rules.

With this, they won’t have to print any product-related information directly onto the devices and thus avoid cluttering the phone and keep up their minimalist design concept.
But that is just one of the condition that Apple has sought from the Indian government while expressing their desire to start manufacturing within India.

According to IndiaTimes, the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) has already forwarded Apple’s request to the Department of Revenue and Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeITY) last month and their offer is under consideration.
Currently, Apple manufactures its products in six different countries including the US, but the majority of its phones are being made in China.
The reports claim that Apple’s distinctive design language is an integral part of its product appeal and it thus strives to keep that up and keep the phone surfaces as free of artefacts as possible.

Thus looking at that, Apple has requested India to provide the product details that are required by law in India, be it part of the software or part of the packaging.
The reports also claim that besides above, the labelling issue would also be dealt by DeITY.
In past as well the Indian finance ministry had rejected a proposal by Apple as they had sought exemption from the compulsory 30% local sourcing norm.

Apple at that time had sought the exemption stating that it was bringing “state-of-the-art” and “cutting-edge technology,” to the people of India and thus it was difficult for them to meet the sourcing condition.
